Holy
Souls Repay Your Kindness!
I had the privilege
to hear Fr. Clement Machado give a parish retreat. He is a powerful
speaker and a very devout priest. Focusing his homily on the souls
in Purgatory, he explained what a great act of kindness it is
to pray for them. He also told us how grateful they are for our
prayers and how quick they are to return the favor.
Here is an example he gave to illustrate his point:
When Pope Benedict XVI was just elected, one of the very first
things he did was to visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the
Walls. Fr. Machado heard of this before most people and told a
friend who said she wanted to see the new pope. He told her just
what to do to have the best chance of getting to see Pope Benedict
and to hopefully get his blessing in person.
He told her to go to such and such a spot in the Basilica at least
two hours early. He also advised her to pray for the Poor Souls
in Purgatory the entire time she waited. She did everything as
he recommended, including many prayers for the Holy Souls.
The people of Rome flocked to see their new "Papa."
When the pope was leaving he came up the aisle surrounded by Italians
shouting, "Benedetto! Benedetto!", "Viva il Papa!",
and trying desperately to get him to come close enough to touch.
For the most part, he held back a bit as he gave his blessings
as he went along.
When he got near to where Fr. Clement Machado's friend was, he
suddenly made a bee line right toward her. He spoke to her briefly
and even held her hand as he gave her his blessing! Wow! She was
in seventh heaven!
As Pope Benedict moved on, the woman realized the Italians were
staring at her. They were so excited at seeing the pope that,
although they must have been disappointed at not getting to touch
him in person, they did the next best thing - they touched the
person who herself had touched him!
The woman suddenly found herself surrounded by Italians hugging
her and congratulating her and even kissing her hand - the very
hand Pope Benedict had moments before held in his own.
You gotta love those big hearted Italian people! AND you
sure gotta love those Holy Souls! They are our brothers and sisters
in Christ and they NEED our prayers, sacrifices and indulgences,
and, as this story demonstrates, they sure know how to repay an
act of kindness!

Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your Divine Son
Jesus, in union with all the Masses said throughout the world today; for all
the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the
universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
Divine Mercy This

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I
bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in
Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet who must make retribution
to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from
Your Heart put out the flames of purifying fire, that in that place, too,
the power of Your mercy may be praised.
Eternal Father, turn Your most merciful gaze upon the
souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the Most Compassionate
Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and
by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded, manifest
Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in
no other way than through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for
we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion.
Amen.
We
have many more prayers to add to this page.
It is still under construction.
WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AS WE ARE WORKING

This is a HUGE undertaking as we are "re-working" this
website.
This may take months, so please pray for us.
This is a work of love
that I am trying to do between taking care of our 11 children.
